Homemade Tortilla Chips

Course Appetizer


  • 1 pkg corn tortillas (I like extra thin)
  • 1-2 tbsp FRENCH PANTRY oil of choice
  • FRENCH PANTRY salt of choice


  • Preheat oven to 400°F degrees. Place Bonmat on Perforated Baking Sheet and set aside.
  • Cut tortillas into 6 triangles each. Place triangles in mixing bowl, add oil and toss to be sure each triangle is lightly coated with oil. You may also brush the triangles with oil using the Silicone Pastry Brush. Set triangles in a single layer on the Bonmat, sprinkle with salt and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Be sure to check chips after 6 minutes and rotate trays if using multiple Bonmats and Baking Sheets. Depending on your oven the chips may be ready in 8 minutes or take as long as 12 minutes. Watch closely as they can go from perfect to over cooked within 1 minute.
